When the kidders get got!!

HeeHee....ok - so picture this: in his mind, he's the image of cool. 13, football player, tall, works out everyday - yeah, you know the guy - remember him from high school because every high school had one. Oh, and did I mention great sense of humor and loves a good joke?!? OK, so now give said 13 year old a cell phone, place him in a pizza place with his family and a couple of his parents friends. Now, said 13 year old gets a text message something to the effect of "Hey sexy! How ya' doing today?" Sit back and watch the panic set in! Ears turn scarlet, grin the size of the Grand Canyon and yet a small wrinkle across his forehead showing the mystery. This continues - mystery growing with every text for 2 days. Oh, did I mention that the parents friends have his cell phone number but he doesn't have theirs?!? OH - NOW you see where this is going!!! The morning after the pizza - he gets out of bed EARLY AND VOLUNTARILY to do what? TAKE A SHOWER!!! HaHa! This is great! Mom's eating this up! Well, all good things must come to an end, and boy when they do....heehee. Well let's just say that Dakota was not thrilled! In fact, though he wouldn't admit it - he thought it was funny too! After all, it's not every day that a 13 year old boy is trying to squirm his way out of a "date" in exchange for the name of his mystery "girl". Poor baby - suffered his first heartbreak over a girl that wasn't even real. And yeah, I'm mean because even though I didn't convince them to send the first text, I knew what was going on all along. After all - my friends are smart - you don't mess with momma's baby without her knowing it!!

My new favorite!!

OK - here's the pics you've all been waiting for.......

BEFORE:

This is right before the painting begins - complete with all of the furniture shoved into the middle of the living room. Notice what appear to be nice white walls? Nope, those turned out to be nice white dingy walls that hadn't been painted in who knows how long. I've known for the last year that they were bad, but I didn't realize how bad.

AFTER:

Much better! 2 words: LOVE IT!!!! It feels like a brand new house and it's made all the difference. It makes us that much more motivated to do the rest of the house now. Interesting how even the kitchen and dining room didn't have this kind of an impact on us. Oh well, no complaints here!!
