School Dayz & Old Age

OK, so it's time for yet another school year to begin. I can't believe how fast the summer flew by. It seems like I spent the end of last year waiting excited for summer so things would slow down around here. HA! What a joke! Nope, it never slowed during the summer and here we are - another school year again. I've said many times that living in a small town has it's perks but it has draw backs too. Tomorrow, I send my oldest child to HIGH SCHOOL!! Say what?!? Yep, too small to have a middle school so 7th grade begins high school. Last year I had paperwork come home for permission to spank (or not) and this year it's permission to do random drug tests should the need arise. Wow! Nothing makes you feel old faster than sending a child to high school. They talk about how hard your birthdays are....you know, 30 (and for some of us 25 was hard) but none of that holds a candle to sending a child to high school. So, it's off to bed (early tonight) and in the morning one of us will be crying like a baby....all the way to work as the bus takes my babies to school.
